Hey there,
Love! Valour! Compassion! was performed last night. It was a truly magical evening. I had a brilliant cast. I was very proud last night of all of them. Michael Mendelson, Steven Petrillo, Brett Glazer, Douglas Leland, Jared Slater, Joey Landwehr and Julio Agustin are all fine actors and I hope I get the honor of working with them again in the near future. Thanks to anyone who attended the performance, especially since it was a benefit for Wold Trade Center/Fireman's Relief funds. Here is something I wrote for the program notes:

LOVE, a four-letter word, four letters with more meanings than any other word in the English Language. A word which has made itself a lot more well-known since September 11, 2001. In reading one of Terrence McNally's greatest theatrical works, at such a tumultuous time in all our lives, I've discovered new meanings for that little word. After you leave the theatre tonight, please take a moment to reflect on the love that you are capable of, and then take as many moments as you can to express what you discover. And keep in mind that Love is a journey, not a destination. This evening's performance is dedicated not only to the memory of those lost in recent tragedies, but to the spirit of those of us who continue to live, laugh...and Love.-Jamie McGonnigal, Director

Please if you ever see any of these cast member's names in any other shows, go and support them, you will not be disappointed.

In other news...I've finished recording and casting the first five episodes of the new anime series "Knight Hunters" also known as "Weiss Kreuz." I play Omi, the youngest of four guys who by day, run a flower shop and by night, are hired assassins...keeping the balance between good and evil...I love saying that. Also, all 3 DVDs/Videos of the Magic Users Club OAV series are now in stores, as well as the first 4 episodes of the TV series on one DVD. The 5th Magic Users DVD as well as Knight Hunters should be available in stores within the next few weeks. SO go pick them up, they're a lot of fun!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Okay...So my Queens run of 108 Waverly ended today. I was actually quite sad...It's been a long time since I've felt this way about a show, but this one has been great! It's very rare that you get an opportunity like the one I had in 108 Waverly. Personally, my role was not only an exciting one to play, but a great challenge at the same time. I enjoy challenges...if I didn't, this career would get very boring very quickly. So this was a great escape from doing Big River again...Don't get me wrong, I love Big River, I think it is one of the better shows out there and it has paid many of my bills over the year, but with 108 Waverly, I was able to create a role...that's exciting for most actors. In addition to all of this, I was able to work with an incredible group of people who were not only talented, but good human beings as well...another rarity in this business. So this is why I will miss this particular run of 108 Waverly. However, the good news is...We will be having a staged reading of the show in Manhattan on December 11th. The current producer is seeking further backers for the show. Evidently they have a great deal of interest already, but need just a little more to put them over the top, so they can afford to put up an Off-Broadway run. It's actually quite exciting!

After the final performance of 108 Waverly at Queens Theatre in the Park, I rushed back to Manhattan to have a first readthrough of Love! Valour! Compassion!, which will be performed next Monday night at 8PM at St Clement's Church...I am sure Sammi, my wonderful friend who came to see Waverly with two of her friends, will turn Love! Valour! Compassion! into a link for me, since all I do well here is type in books about my day. SO the readthrough went very well. I have a tremendously talented cast to work with and I look forward to really delving into this amazing script. Tomorrow night, Monday, Jeffrey by Paul Rudnick will be performed at St. Clement's Church (see the L!V!C! link) My friend Pat Dwyer is starring as Jeffrey and I urge anyone to go see what I know will be a very fine performance. That's about it for now. Thank you SO MUCH to all who schlepped their asses out to Queens to see me in 108 Waverly. It was MUCH appreciated. And if anyone knows someone who might like to invest in this wonderful gem (the show, not me, silly) please feel free to contact me! Night! Love, Jamie

I saw the opening night of the staged reading series which I am directing for. Tonight's performance was The Odd Couple, the female version. They did a very nice job. If anyone can catch Jeffrey, which my friend Pat Dwyer is starring in, please try. I promise it will be worth it. Jeffrey is on November 12 and Love! Valour! Compassion!, which I am directing will be performed on November 19. There's a link around here somewhere for all the info. I did some recording today for one of the animes I work on, Magic User's Club, and I then received a phone call to start work on a new anime series which seems to be very popular already in the world of Japanese Animation. It's called Weiss Kreuz, and is about four men who, by day, run a flower shop and by night, are hired assassins, ridding the world of evil-doers...sounds like a formula for success to me! In the meantime, 108 Waverly closes on Sunday, so please come see it if you have not yet.And I am working on scheduling rehearsals for L!V!C! and making that work with the readings of THE MIRACLE OF FATIMA musical and the Pearl Hart:a Horse Opera staged reading which goes up the week after Thanksgiving...so needless to say, I am keeping busy! Be well! Love, Jamie

I'm having a wonderful time currently, working on 108 Waverly. A few loved ones were able to see the show this weekend, loved ones who had never seen me perform and whose opinions I value highly. They very much enjoyed the show, as well as my performance in it, which meant a great deal to me. I also had the pleasure of meeting our casting director tonight, Vinnie Liff. He is an extremely important person in the business I am in. And he also happens to be one of the most charming, sweet, and genuine people I have ever met. He had some very kind things to say about the show as well as my performance. I was very appreciative considering the amazing theatrical life this man has led. So that was my evening...it was wonderful. The show runs through November 11th, please come catch it if you can! Love, Jamie
